Finally, one box arrived in Captain Cook, Big Island

Boxarrived

Yesterday night I received the following email from Fred:

Aloha Susann,

Well, you won’t believe it, but your box arrived.  The Post Office called us yesterday afternoon and we picked it up today.  Now, what should we do?  Sure missed saying goodbye, but we were so excited that Chris won. Our grandson got his t-shirt already.

Up to now we don’t know whether the BIEST BOOSTER  or only our DVDs arrived there. Actually, therefore I don’t know yet how to proceed. Perhaps, we ship the stuff to Nevada to join Chris in his race against Dave Scott. He may be in need of a BIEST BOOSTER after the exhausting race in Kona.

Hawaii aftermath: jetlag and the awareness of time

A journey like the one to Hawaii that is just lying behind us definitely increases the awareness of time, flying ahead of time and flying back in time, adjusting the fingers of watches several times, on top of this the change from summer to winter time makes us doubt the linearity of time as we usually perceive it in our Western culture.
The leaps in time are squeezing, stretching and bending the body like an accordion. We suddenly sense the time continuum as disrupted. One looses the orientation taken for granted when things run smoothly from one day to the other. Sleep is fractured, appetite dislocated, digestion upset, well-being at least unsettled and our mental equilibrium? Isn’t it less stable, aren’t we crankier than usual?  The phenomenon is called jetlag .Schlaf2

Should I not say now: take a BIEST BOOSTER to accelerate adaptation? No, I don’t, because you won’t believe me anyway ;-). And moreover, the stuff is still stuck at customs in the U.S. In case you would amazingly enough want to buy the booster, there was not enough available. Therefore, I better give you this link:Time It is about how different people visualize time. Source: infosthetics

Interview mit Chris McCormack

Chris, der Wahsinnige, geht beim Silverman in Nevada am 11. November an den Start. Ein Rennen gegen Dave Scott, Jahrgang 1954 gegen 1973. No rest, no beers, tough job again, but too tempting. Hier das Interview mit enduranceplanet Chrisruns

IRONMAN Hawaii: the day after

Before the award party on Sunday, we asked athletes which part of the body was the most painful one. The answers are fun and show very authentic and relaxed people.

Their pains may have disappeared up to now, and may have given room to the memories of an outstanding day in their lives.
Our pains are still vivid. Our BOOSTERS are stuck in customs still. Our searches ended up in vicious circles between DHL Germany and US Postal… our conclusion: be patient and wait and see and hope…

Back from Hawaii

Today we came back from our exciting journey to the IRONMAN world championship in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. The BIEST BOOSTERs are still stuck in customs New Jersey. We got almost used to this situation by now ;-). The job is done, and we are happy. Chris won the race, we got a lot of good footage and made amazing experiences that are going to help us next time.

Biest is still dreaming of blue skies, hot winds and bright sunshine… ;-)
